UK Chat Room’s Unwritten Rules

Free chat rooms are a source of great fun and entertainment to many these days. This is why online chat rooms are something everyone associates with and also the reason why free chat rooms have spread all over the world, especially UK. A lot of people want to join UK/London chat rooms and get into the whole online chatting groove.

But like everything else, free chat rooms also have a set of rules and regulations, both written and unwritten, that need to be followed or else the user will have to face the consequences of their irresponsible and unruly behavior. All of us, or at least most of us are aware of the written rules of online chat rooms, but there are some unwritten rules followed by chat rooms especially UK chat rooms and knowing them is as important as knowing the written rules. Most of these rules are picked up after you have joined a chat room, but there are many who are not aware of their existence, and so for their benefit these some of the more important unwritten rules are mentioned here.

Firstly, when you join a chat room and when you enter it, it is very important and not to mention courteous to make your presence aware in the room, this is done by greeting everyone and also mentioning your ‘asl’ that is you Age, your Sex and the Location to which you belong. This is required for people to better understand you at the initial level and also because usually UK chat rooms are meant for adults and so only eighteen years above can join such rooms.

Secondly, remember never to use capital letters while chatting as the usage of capital letters indicates ‘shouting’ and nobody wants to be shouted at for no rhyme or reason.

Thirdly, as security is of the utmost importance to every individual, it is essential that all chat rooms keep secure the personal details and identities. This is something that UK chat rooms are particular about. This is why it is advisable for users to not use their real names and identities and also not share their pictures with every second person but to only do so after knowing the person well through a series of long chats. It is also advisable for everyone to not use their friends’ real names in order to maintain discretion in a free online chat room.

Fourthly, there is a host or an admin who is in charge of maintaining the sanctity of the chat rooms. So if there is someone who is not behaving well with you or is using abusive language towards you then you can complain to the admin and/or the host of the room instead of starting a verbal fight with that person. People chat to find friends and people who they are comfortable with and not ending up with people with whom you pick up fights.

These are but few of the important rules that are supposed to be followed. All these and the rest of the unwritten rules can be easily learnt while you engage yourself in the chat rooms, so you got nothing to worry about.
